Vulcain Watches at Clicky Bezel

A Swiss Brand with Real History

Vulcain is best known for inventing the Cricket alarm wristwatch in 1947. But what really defines the brand is how it brings quiet complexity into watches that feel timeless and approachable. From vintage-inspired chronographs to mechanical alarms, Vulcain creates pieces that look clean at a glance but offer something deeper when you live with them.

At Clicky Bezel, you can experience Vulcain watches in person, including the iconic Cricket alarm and vintage-inspired chronographs. If you’ve ever been curious about how these heritage-driven pieces feel on the wrist, our San Francisco store is the perfect place to try them on.

Why We Chose Vulcain

Our introduction to Vulcain came through a moment we won’t forget. While filming with Eric Wind of Wind Vintage in West Palm Beach, he generously gifted us a Vulcain Cricket from 1952.

Eric has long been a champion of the brand, and with good reason. The Cricket isn’t just charming—it’s clever, functional, and historically important. Vulcain has ties to multiple American presidents and was once nicknamed “The President’s Watch.”

That heritage, combined with thoughtful reissues and new designs, made Vulcain a natural fit for the shop.

What Makes Vulcain Different

Vulcain watches may look understated, but they carry real utility under the surface.

The Cricket’s mechanical alarm is surprisingly practical, especially when you want to time something without using a phone. That chirping vibration on the wrist is something you won’t forget.

And while the Cricket gets most of the attention, the Chronograph 70’s quietly impresses with its clean bicompax layout and vintage proportions.

Whether you’re into complications or just want something different, Vulcain delivers.

A Personal Note From Chris

I came to Vulcain fairly late in my collecting journey. I had heard of the Cricket, but never gave it a close look until Eric Wind handed me a vintage one in person. When the alarm went off, I smiled from ear to ear.

There’s something special about seeing a mechanical complication in action, especially one that’s this unexpected. That moment stayed with me.

Now that we carry the modern reissues, I get to share that experience with customers. And it never gets old.
