Why We Chose Kuoe

Kuoe offers something rare in the current watch landscape. Their largest case size is 38mm, which hits that Goldilocks balance for many wearers.

The brand excels at delivering classic design in wearable proportions, with build quality that feels well beyond the price point. Starting with the Old Smith 90-002, it was clear that every watch was designed with intention.

As the rest of the lineup followed, including the Royal Smith and Sombrero, Kuoe earned its place in the store.

What Makes Kuoe Different

Every Kuoe watch is assembled in Kyoto by a small team dedicated to getting the details right.

Founder Kenji Uchimura started the brand not as a business venture, but as a passion project to create watches he couldn't find elsewhere.

That sincerity comes through in the finishing, materials, and overall feel on the wrist. One standout model is the 90-007, featuring a small seconds layout and offset crown for added comfort and charm.

A Personal Note From Chris

The first time I tried on a Kuoe was in their office in Kyoto, before their now-popular store even opened. It was the 90-002, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

A proper vintage-inspired watch with a 35mm case that most brands today are too afraid to make. It felt like stepping back in time, in the best way. That moment stuck with me, and it’s part of why I wanted to bring Kuoe into the store.
