Why We Chose KNIS
KNIS first came onto our radar through a Japanese YouTube creator and deeper research into independent watchmakers coming out of Japan. While brands like Kuoe are well known, KNIS has remained largely under the radar.
That’s exactly what drew us in. We saw a brand offering real value, interesting materials, and strong design at approachable prices.
After visiting their humble headquarters in Kyoto and meeting founder Keisuke in person, it became clear this was a brand worth supporting. His mission to deliver high-level Japanese craftsmanship without unnecessary markup comes through clearly in the watches.
What Makes KNIS Different
KNIS stands out by offering materials and dial work rarely seen at this price point.
Models like the Retro Modern Black feature a grainy textured sandwich dial that adds depth without being flashy. On the other end of the spectrum, their meteorite dial pieces are genuinely striking in person and difficult to ignore once you see them on the wrist.

Visiting their Kyoto headquarters and spending time with Keisuke made it clear that this is a passion-driven operation. He’s humble, focused, and genuinely interested in making good watches accessible.
Being able to introduce KNIS to our customers and give them a platform feels meaningful, especially knowing we’re helping shine a light on a brand that deserves wider recognition.
